Great book, tales well told, a real can't put it down type of book. I was totally engrossed in characters and their descriptions, the settings were well articulated, like actually being there. Whilst some of the tales might seem far fetched the accounts made them real enough. What I really enjoyed was Mark's description of getting the pub up and running and what it took and the daily adventures had by the team and the visitors to the Pub and surrounds. What detracted I felt were some of the tales told by the characters that came to the pub, I.E. not so much Mark's story. But a great book well laid out and the photos whilst grainy due to age were great and really added to the atmosphere and descriptions. If you ever met a stranger on a bus or a train and stayed a few extra stops so you could continue to enjoy their stories, this is the book for you. It's written as if Mark sat down next to you and said " Have I got a story for you." It's written as a conversation and never disappoints. I feel like I've spent a few days at the Daly Waters Pub myself. I wish I could give ten stars.
